Ok I am lacking in the brain department at the moment and literally just noticed whilst sitting in traffic that my tax ran out on 31st August!!!!!!! :o
Problem is, I have no V5 and no renewal due to a change of address so the old renewal went to the previous address and I sent the V5 off last week? to change my address over (I moved here in June :o)

SO! is there any other way I can tax my car at all? I have tried calling the DVLA but just keep getting a message saying ''busy, call back later, thanks for calling''
I cant get hold of the people who would of received the letter until Monday now but they would of just forwarded it anyway (its a refuge head office address)
*puts on flame proof jacket* :D

  • No, I'm not organised enough to do that, and anyway it would of been issued to my old address as my new address is not listed yet!

Take proof of new address too (unless your licence has already been updated). If you have the 2nd page of the V5C with section 10 or an old section 10 (V5C/2) new keepers supplement then take that with you and the £25 fee may be waived.

And just in case you don't know, they don't open weekends. And you'll need to keep car off public highway until it's taxed.
