Anyone used mypropertyforsale.co.uk??

Been looking around for a good site to sell a house online that utilises RIGHTMOVE as it seems to be the biggest one out there.

I found MYPROPERTYFORSALE.CO.UK saying that their £299 plus VAT does???

Anyone used them before?

Are they good or bad??? Any advice or feedback would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks all!

  • they are a small run outfit that will likely go bust. I wouldnt touch anything prepaid with a bargepole. Its like spam, you either hate it, push the bottom and report it.

Anyone got anything to add to this??
  • One of these companies phoned me asking if I would like them to recommend me as a conveyancer to their clients. Turns out they want me to pay for an advert which will feature on their listings in my locality.

They had around 60 properties listed in my area - which appeared quite impressive. How long have you been going? 8 years they said. "Funny", I said, "I haven't had a single conveyancing transaction where your company was involved in all that time - so how many are you actually selling?" They were pushing a no commission £199 + VAT upfront deal and it was obvious that people were being left to decide on their own prices - as there were some that were completely unrealistic.

I drew the reasonable conclusion that people who were trying to sell for as much as they could with as low costs as possible were trying this company's website and not getting anywhere and going back to traditional estate agents.
    RICHARD WEBSTER

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
  • I am aware of this company (& others like it) and agree with Richard Webster: Though you can go on portals like rightmove for a low fee, 'national' companies have no local knowledge and have to sub contract any house visit/brochure prep out to other parties.

That results in a lack of consistency on these cheap national sites, a lack of useful feedback to the client, no capability to carry out accompanied viewings/valuations and actually opens up the company to a host of problems like complying with the Property Misdescriptions Act. Most won't negotiate your sale either - you'll most likely be on your own!

I do however agree with the principle that people should be able to sell for a lower fee service than 1.5% etc... After 10 years in estate agency and property development I launched Property Parrot - Estate Agents in Leeds. I deal with a confined area, with good local knowledge. I value properties for clients and can deal with vacant properties which demand my personal service and accompanied viewings.

We charge either a fixed fee or a low percentage commission, the point being that we don't operate from high street offices but advertise on rightmove, fish4homes etc.

If you are selling in Leeds then see propertyparrot.co.uk where you can sell for lower fees but still get the local expertise and a full estate agency service which I think is important when selling your biggest asset.
  • you are not allowed to spam here. Any business that resorts to such tactics I think should be delisted, banned from the internet for life, made to sign the spam offenders register, made victim to spamalots law and the management made to have a vasectomy.
