NatWest YourPoints World MasterCard

I have received a mailing through the post advising me that an existing NatWest credit card holder, I can have a free upgrade to a YourPoints World MasterCard. With this credit card you are also given free benefits - wallet\handbag theft insurance, ticket cancellation insurance, best price and travel pass. Has anybody else heard of this, or does anybody collect Your Points?? What kind of benefits do you receive with Your Points?

    Waste of time IMO

Here's their website https://www.natwestyourpoints.com/ will let you decide for yourself.

You do know there's a monthly fee for it?

  • Hi CannyJock, I have just checked my letter and there is no fee attached at all. You seem to get a lot for free?
  • Assuming you the pay card off in full every month, and that it is free - why wouldn't you?

Thanks Spooneroonie. Great point, it does look too good to be true to be honest, but having checked the website and phoned the call centre, you get Your Points and all those insurances for free!!!

    Better cards out there IMO.

    £1 spend = 1 point.
    £10 M&S voucher = 2000 points = £2000 spend = 0.5%

    Not impressed.

I've been signed up for it free for 12 months on a semi-dormant Natwest card, with a bonus 1000 points for not cancelling the card. Good to hear they've stopped charging for it, will give me a reason to call them to confirm same applies to "existing customers".

There might be better deals out there, but as OP is already existing customer and is plannining to stay with them then I woull take it.

Some people are not as financialy savvy like us, who constantly tart with cards to get the most benefits or some people don't have the option due to unability to apply for another card.

OP, if it is free and you don't want the hassle of applying for another card for some other/more benefits and you are using it then why not take them up on the offer?

But otherwise Canny is right - if you are so surprised by the benefits you get, you obviously haven't seen what else is out there. There are better cards out there.
  • Thanks very much Any for your reply.
In terms of better cards out there for benefits, can you point me in any direction??
