Anyone got/had dealings with them?
Are they able to offer consilidation loans to pay off exsisting debts etc?
Our local branch recomended that we get in touch with them after they were unable to do anything for us.
Any info would be much appreciated:)
Thanks in advance

Be warned - Lloyds TSB tried to get me to borrow money from them, against my house in order to pay off unsecured debt. You'd be much better contacting an independent debt management company before you commit to any further loads.0

Are you sure you need to consolidate? This is usually quite expensive in the longrun.
You could post up a statement of affairs (SOA) and we'll see if there are any savings to be made from your expenditure.

Think I may have dealt with that department as nov 2008they requested my full overdraft back within7days!
I couldent do that so went into branch did budget planner then rang special number they gave me.
They pressured me to convert into a loan and wouldent take any less that £40 over 6years for balance of £1600.
It was my only option.
I had to keepcurrent account with themas they take dd frommy current account, account no longer has od facilityandi face hugepenalties charges wise if I go in the red.
They were helpful enough.spoken to some nice people at Lloyds tsb
Realistically though they only gave me a loan as had loan with them in past and paid it off and was using loan to pay a Lloyds debt.
I thinkif it had been another creditor they would have said no.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

I'm pretty sure you can still reclaim on a loan that's been paid off.
Just found an article on this. Basically you:have to have complained to the FOS no more than three years from the time that you could reasonably have been expected to have been aware that you had been mis-sold the insurance.

Smunchkin, sorry to have taken this off topic.
One thing you should be aware of is that it is very rarely in your interests to change unsecured debt into secured debt (like adding it to your mortgage or somilar). The banks are there to make money - that's the bottom line. You should also be aware that too many credit checks in a short period can impact your credit rating so don't allow them to do another check if they request it - they've just done one so should be able to use the data from that. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

You really don't want to turn any unsecured debt into secured debt as if you are unable to pay for any reason then your home becomes at risk - do not let them sell you this.
Also - generally loans end up costing you more in the long run as the debt is just spread over a longer period of time.
It might help if you told us what the situation is - ie how many debts and what type and how much - also what's led to the problems - ie general ovespending / loss of job/loss of partner/illness etc - the more we know about the problem the easier it is to give specific help.

You may want to get free independent advice from CCCS or National Debtline or your local CAB - especially if you have debts with more than one company - as obviously Lloyds may just be interested in themselves , rather than what's best for you overall.
Perhaps see what lloyds have to say - think about it and get some advice from CCCS/National Debtline/your local CAB and then go from there before making any decisions?
