ScotCall Debt Collecting
Today i requested some payment slips from the above company to clear an outstanding debt which they have bought.
I cannot believe the abuse, the manner and the general bullying that i had from this company today.
Please bare in mind all i done was to phone and request some payment slips.
The first person i spoke to basically told me in a nut shell - they do not offer pay slips, I was a CLIENT and not a customer, even when i requested to speak to a supervisor i was told i had no right to speak to a supervisor and they would only tell me the same thing. Upon further insistance by myself to speak to a higher authority and after being put on hold for five minutes i was put through to someone who basically said the same thing as the person before, i then requested a complaint form to deal with the way i had been spoken to previously where i was told the company does not have a complaint procedure and i should write to Gordon Brown - I kid you not !!!! But if not Gordon Brown then Rick Griffin would be a better option upon various giggling etc that you could hear in the back ground i was infuriated.
I phoned my other half at work and chewed his ears about it - my partner then phoned and argued my corner to the same supervisor i had spoken to, where he was told he had his wires crossed the phone call was quite amicable and half the things that were said never took place !!!!
I am that annoyed i am currently writing a letter of complaint to the company for a final reply so that i can take it straight to the financial ombudsman for some kind of complaint against the company (this is the only way i can think of - to get some kind of action against the bullying)
If i wasnt clinically depressed at the start of this phone call i am now, The above is alittle snap shot of the phone call i had - there's a whole lot more where i was told i would have to give a financial breakdown over the phone and i wasnt allowed to post one in.
Has anyone else dealt with this so called company ?????
Who and how is the correct procedure to complain against this debt collector??? I would also like a copy if one exists of the phone call that we had is this possible???
Any help appreciated - am very annoyed and upset CLIENT - the overall amount is for 125.10 !!!!

Hi Vicki
Sorry you have had such a bad experience. You should complain directly to the original creditor and request they reclaim the debt on these grounds.
Just ignore them. What goes around comes around0 -
Hi Vicki
Unfortunately most of the Debt Collection Agencies think they are a law unto themselves. I remember someone posting about how they were told they should go to the local supermarket and ask for some cardboard boxes - because that's where their kids would be sleeping if they didn't pay up.
Some people also record their calls with the DCA's. I'm just waiting for someone to put one up on youtube so that their "clients" can be notified of how they are being represented.
Hope things improve for you soon. I doubt you're the only one to suffer at the hands of these morons. I would love it if the regulations were changed so that it enabled mystery shoppers to regulate and inform on their behavior and information they were spouting. I'm not sure if it's a case of the OFT not having any teeth to do anything about these idiots or if they just aren't interested. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Complain to the FSA about them, these companies have to be licensed under the consumer credit act to operate. By making a complaint, the company then has to lodge money with the FSA for them to then process and handle the complaint. Hit them where it hurts, if enough people complained, the money they would have to lodge would send them broke.0

Do that, and mention it in the letter to the DCA too. They need a scare.

Also, may be worth not paying and just ignoring them from now on. At the end of the day you'll already have a default so whether you pay or not has no bearing.
However, what you should do (assuming you wish to continue paying) is to go to the original creditor and request they deal with you from here-on-in due to the unfair treatment and subsequent irrevocable relationship.
Say you wish to make payments to clear the account and can they send you some paying in slips or provide an account number in which to make payments.
Also remind them you will no longer converse with the dca and if any action is taken against you as a result of this, you will seek legal guidance against both them and the dca. Basically you're telling the OC that their choice of DCA is !!!!!! and you're refusing to deal with them. If they then try and ccj you, it'd be thrown out as you've already said that the relationship cannot be repaired due to their behaviour in the past.2010 - year of the troll

Complain to that email address, tell him to review the csa code of conduct that they subscribe to, trust me if you email the monkeys they will bow and if they continue email the csa. The problem with this agency along with bcw is that they think just because they are in glasgow that they have different rules than england.0 -

I'm afraid you can't complain to the FSA about a debt collection agency. The OFT regulates them.
But you can complain - and you can take them to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Look at this thread.0 -
thats funny because when my husband spoke to them they said they would send out payment slips but unsuprisingly thay have yet to do so (several months later) and now moaning that he's broke the aggrement!!! they call us night and day and even phone my number even after explaining its not his phone and they said they would remove it from their files!!0
