Higher housing benefit..please help!!

At present i'm living in a flat above a butchers shop- a bad move as he starts at 5am (or earlier) and is very noisy. The people in the flat above me run a restaurant and come home at about 11pm, they are then noisy untill 1am ish. I'm at present working part time as i can't consider a full time job due to the fact i'm lucky if i get 5 hours sleep a night!
I want to move to a nearby house, but the rent on that is £190 a month more. As i recieve some housing benefit i was wondering if anyone knew if i would receive the difference between what i am paying at present and the new rent, if i move? The house seems to be in the average for this area, but would they say i have to pay the difference because i have moved myself from a much cheaper place?
Thank you so much for any advice.

Housing Benefit doesn't "judge" why you moved, you will receive any entitlement depending on local conditions. You can get a "pre- tenancy determination" (I think it's called that) - you will need to ask about this locally.

They make decisions based on fair rent for the property and area, and the number of rooms in the property compared to how many people live there. If it's just you and you move into a three bed house with a reception room you would be unlikely to get the full rent.

Take a look at your local council's web site to see if they have any information.

Thanks for those replies. The property is the right size for me and my daughter i.e two beds, one reception etc. I will contact the authority and ask to have a pre tenancy agreement done.
    Thanks again for your help.
