Income Support - Relevant Education

If somebody (16-18) is entitled to Income Support on the grounds of estrangement from parents, they are required to be in full time relevant education.
If a claimaint were to leave education and start work, they would lose their entitlement to IS. If they changed their mind 3 months later, and re applied to college, would they be entitled to IS again from the moment they finish work, or does their entitlement only begin on the date the course starts?
I'm thinking of a scenario where their employment ends because their contract is not renewed because the employer realises they might be leaving in September.
Do they have to apply for JSA (Hardship) for 2 months before transferring to IS?
All help appreciated.

I would think it would be JSA they have to apply for either way - I dont see where the IS comes into it?0

My question was whether the period waiting for the course to start is classed as full time education.0 -
It would not be classed as in education, they would need to register at Careers / Connexions and claim JSA Hardship until the non-advanced college course started in September.0
