Is this a scam?

http://www.mikesgmoney.com/u

I was in my Facebook account earlier and on the right was a link about making money on google.

Perhaps the more experienced money savers could take a look and let me know what you think? Thanks.

  • My guess is that it's a scam - he'll be making something from the kits he's selling.

    Some clues:

1.If he had found a goldmine, would he be rushing to share it? Okay, some people would but why create competition for yourself?

    2. Anyone can create a fake cheque with some basic graphics software. It proves nothing.

    3. The 'In the news' section is an attempt validate his claim by showing some logos of recognised newspapers and a couple of generic quotes. Of course hundreds of thousands of dollars are being paid out to entrepreneurs by Google Adsense, but it's being shared out between hundreds of thousands of people. That's not a lot each.

    4. Comments - big clue! They are all written in the same style with same punctuation and lack of capitals - so all written by the same person! And comments are closed because he doesn't want negatives posted.

He's unlikely to be called Mike Kinston or live in St Albans. Another clue - Kinston is a very unusual, if not unique, surname. He probably meant to type Kingston. Would you mistype your own name and not check it?

    Hope this helps!

Stay clear of this. I fell for it.. dont ask why cause I normally stay well clear of things like this but though I seen it on facebook and though I'd see what it is about. It was actually only last saturday I thought Id give it a go.

The page I was on was slightly different to that you posted but looks like the same thing. It takes you to a page which says get this now for only £1 something, only shipping cost. Then when you pay it says it will be shipped to your door with in 10 days, but not only that this is only a 7 day triial and you will be charged $36.00 a month unless you cancel. (Im still trying to figure out who I contact to say to cancel this) . So you get a 7 day trial yet it takes 10 days to be delivered!!.

I read some of the comments on this guys page and all were positive giving hints as to what to do when you start. I left a comment saying exactly what I though and suprise suprise it wasnt added!.

Stay well clear of this. I only hope I can figure out how to cancel before they start taking those mothly payments

Paulos77 I got caught to - I managed to find an email address and sent them an email explaining I couldn't understand why a free trial only cost postage and packaging would end up cost me in excess of £35!! They replied and asked me to return the item and they would then make a refund, even if it was returned after the trial period. This then cost me £20 to return!! They did make the refund as promised, but I was out of pocket because of having to return the goods. Fingers burnt and I won't fall for it again. What I find amazing is that these "adverts" are on the side of reputable sites so how do they get there. Good luck in your quest to stop it - must admit I also wrote to my credit card company asking them to put a stop on payments being made but never heard from them.

    Thanks Bille.

Do you remember what email address you found to contact them. Also was it the £35 from your card that they refunded or was it just the postage and packing they refunded?

Im was going to ask my credit card company to try and put a stop to the payments too.

There are several different versions of this scam (Google Treasure Chest, Google Money Tree, My Google Payday, emillionaire, Google ATM etc etc ) - what was the name next to the charge on your statement?

Some numbers listed here if that helps?
