Norton anti-virus does not support this repair feature

Options
I use Norton anti-virus and firewall, and Windows XP and Office 2003. Every time I try to run Word or Excel,I get a message "Norton anti-virus does not support this repair feature. Please uninstall and reinstall". I have done that twice, and it has made no difference  . I think it's something to do with Office automatic upgrades, but don't know how to solve it. I can still use Office, but I have to get rid of the message boxes first!

Any suggestions anyone please?

    Hi Eileen

Is a know problem - Norton say ... Disable the Office plug-in
To fix the problem, disable the Norton AntiVirus plug-in for Microsoft Office.

And this is how to do that

To disable the plug-in for Office 2000 or Office XP
    Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus is part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks, then start that program.
    Click Options.
In the left pane, click Miscellaneous.
In the right pane, under "How to keep Microsoft Office documents protected," uncheck Enable Office plug-in.
    Click OK

    Good luck....
