News - "No Return" rule cited by Parking Eye in Edinburgh

Options
Looks like something else to watch out for if you are trotting to & from the stores.
A PLUMBER hit with a £110 parking fine claims he has been told he cannot visit his local B&Q twice in the same day.

John Taylor is one of a number of drivers to be sent penalty notices by Parking Eye after the firm said its cameras had caught him staying longer than the permitted three-and-a-half hours at the Hermiston Gait retail park.

But when the 59-year-old called the company to say he had made two separate visits to the store, he claims he was told that there was a "strict no returns rule" which stops motorists returning to the car park twice in the same day.

From todays Scotsman.

    I don't see why not.

How does it work, do you think, when two different people drive the vehicle to the same location? Who would they pursue for their losses, I wonder? And on what basis?

And there's no need to get angry about it. They are not fines.

You can only laugh at the ineptitude of these systems.

I imagine he is going to have a big fight on his hands and how does he get compensated for all the time and hassle sorting this out?

Ah but look at all the bad press they are getting and you can just see the levels of complaints going through the roof and the admin hassle to sort them all out.

Nah, the complaint process for these firms is quite pointless. Don't lose any sleep over it. :)

I've got a Parking Eye ticket on the go at the moment. For overstaying my welcome, though. Not for returning. Have no intention of paying them. They even call it an "offence". They are idiots.
