Giving Meerkat meals to someone else

I got my car insurance through comparethemarket, and got their meerkat meals for a year. I don't eat out so this doesn't mean anything to me, but I was wondering whether there's a problem if I give it to a friend whom I know eats out a lot?

Do people in restaurants even check who is the holder of these things? I myself am never going to use it, but he might, so might as well have some use out of it!
