Forum search not working in android browser

Hello
When I select the forum search box my android nougat tablet virtual keyboard is not displayed so I am unable to type (unlike here). However, if I hold the search box the keyboard is displayed until I let go to type! Plz fix
PS soz if someone has already raised this but I can't check for obvious reasons
