Internal garage conversion

Options
We are looking a getting our attached garage converted, we are planning on keeping the garage door and keeping a section for storage.

1) Garage is double skinned
2) Garage already has door access from house
3) Garage already has large window fitted
4) Garage already has plaster board ceiling and boarded loft above it which is home for boiler/water tank
5) Garage already has power points and lighting installed

So with that in mind we wanted to brick up a dividing wall leaving some storage, raise floor and plaster board walls etc

First quote came in at £8k and this is without doing the electrics or adding a radiator, seems a bit steep to me, we are getting a couple of more quotes

Any feedback welcome, thanks

If you've not made progress yet a couple of points.

    1. Even if walls are double skin they may not be insulated like the rest of the house - same as the floor. Consider using insulated plasterboards and insulating below the floor boards

    2. Garage conversion specialists will have a set figure in mind for doing a conversion. It might be worth getting separate tradespeople for each task and project manage yourself
