    M&S must have their systems set to charge interest from day one whenever a transaction comes in with a cash or cash-related MCC.

    The cash handling fee is only applied if the transaction is processed as a true cash withdrawal with a cash or cash-related MCC AND a cash Transaction Code.

    It must be the Transaction Code that is triggering the interchange fee direction and therefore the application of the cash handling fee to recover it.

    The card issuer has no control over the transaction profile sent through. Transferwise and its processing bank are the ones responsible for allocating the transaction message data.
