Electrics tripping out

We have had a problem with the electrics tripping out for the last couple of months.

We have had an electrician out, who changed a couple of the RCDs

However this hasn't cured the problem

We have called him back, and he has rechecked and said all of the sockets are fine

What else can we do?

Quite possibly an appliance - kettle, cooker, toaster, immersion

The circuit generally trips when appliances are switched on - what did you witch on ?

You need to systematically eliminate possible causes, which means turning everything off and turning each item on separately until you determine which socket or appliance is causing the problem.
  • We had a new kitchen fitted a while ago and at the same time had a new consumer unit fitted. After it had been fitted the circuits used to trip intermittently for no apparent reason. The electrician came back out, did all the checks which came back fine, scratched his head and then undid and re tightened all the tails.

    Not had a problem since.

We did go through all the steps of switching things on and off to see if anything specific tripped it first though as stated above.
