Refund month 12 deals

I note that if I switch I can save about 9% - by moving onto a deal where the supplier refunds one months tariff at the end of each 12 month period. However this obviously locks you into 12 months with the supplier - what is the communities views on whether these deals make sense?

STOP PRESS for all those with Tesco club card!Check out the tesco website in elec&gas comparison section, if you apply b4 31st Oct with powergen you get 2000 points (dual) or 1000 either gas or elec! Wow!Its made my day, hope this is helps others in the quest for a good deal :j !

12 months is a long time in politics and a lifetime in energy supply.

Questions.
Is it a main stream supplier with an established record?
Has the supplier raised its prices in the latest round of increasess?
Which month do they refund, a summer month?

Answer those questions and it could be a good deal.
