Scottish Power Capped prices
New Member
Received notification of price rise 21/10/05 for both Gas and Electricity.
Scottish Power are offering a capped rate until October 2007 for a fee of £4 per month for both.
I pay dual fuel by fixed price direct debit.
Should I take up the option of the capped price, look for better deal or just continue as I am.

SWEB (EDF Energy) are offering a similar deal. It costs an extra 58p a month for electricity or £2.50 a month for dual fuel.
I am no good at maths, so don't know what the "break-even" would be to justify going for it (if there is one?).Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0 -
You have to work it out for yourself - the price of Scottish Power versus the others, then add £48 for the cap over the year, whilst taking into account whether you think prices will increase.
I am with Scottish Power - have just found out from them that if your delivery agent is other than Transco, they will not offer you a capped rate. They will only cap a Transco delivered product which is about 95% of UK gas it seems. New housing estates may be independantly delivered (mine is 2 1/2 years old).0
