New indoor stopcock due to jamming of old one?

    Had a SureStop fitted for a few years.

    Came home last week to find it had come apart and flooded the whole house.

    Ironic given the fact that if I had not had it fitted the house would not now need new flooring throughout not to mention everything else!

    One poor install does not make it a bad product!

    I've fitted loads, both the in line and 'remote' versions, not a problem with any of them.

    I suspect that the one that 'failed' was fitted to 1/2" pipe, or the pipe wasn't inserted fully, or the o-ring was damaged on installation.

    Although it's an 'easy' pushfit solution, you still have to know what you're doing!

    A plumber fitted it plus the bit that failed was not associated to how it was fitted.

    I am sure 99% of the time they are OK but given the damage that water can do in my opinion it is simply not worth the risk.
