touchpad problems

Hi,
I have a Dell laptop and today the pointer on the touchpad has changed from an arrow to a hand symbol but only when I want to "enter"

I have uninstalled the driver for the touchpad and re-installed it but it is still happening.
Can anyone offer any advice, please?

And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better

UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted

    on windows 10
    Start > type Settings > touchpad > additional settings (takes you to a mouse properties menu) > Pointers tab > look in the Customize box and select the arrow

    Most of the time I do have the arrow symbol, but For example, I do surveys and the arrow is there until I try and hit send. Then it comes up as the hand so send doesn't happen
