Issues with Barclays mortgage lender

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm looking for advice.

I'm in the process of buying a flat in Edinburgh (Embankment West by Regency Residential). It's an old council office conversion.

I've been accepted on the Help to Buy scheme and my mortgage adviser submitted my mortgage application with Barlcays the end of August.

Barclays sent out a surveyor during the first week in September. They had concerns about a few things and would not issue a certificate.

The construction company, MCR Property Group completed a report addressing those concerns and new packs were sent out to all lenders and surveyors at the end of September. Barclays received this information but they are yet to confirm if they are happy with the report and approve my mortgage application.

I've been going back and forth with the sales team (Regency Residential) and my mortgage adviser and both are telling me that there's nothing they can do to speed this process up. I'm really frustrated with how long it's taking for Barclays to respond.

I wondered if anyone has experience with this before? Should I be concerned at this point? The flat is due for completion at the end of Q1 2019, and as far as I'm aware is still on schedule.

If you've got four months, sit back and let your broker deal with it.

I’ve had a letter this morning from my solicitor stating that if I do not sign the missives by 29/11/18 then Link Housing who provide the funding for Help to Buy will remove my funding.
