Cracking On

Options
Have a few previously started diaries which have fallen by the wayside oops!!!
Starting a new diary and determined to keep this one going to raise awareness, again.
Cracking on named after a friend who uses the phrase to get herself motivated to start. She is a bit 'full on' for me,but the sentiment is there.

I work part time and never seem to get much done, despite having lots of plans to get sorted out. Currently use YNAB and don't seem to have any money left over to save.
Hubbie is self employed so cash flow not always great and my wages alone don't cover our outgoings.

Time to get on today. Don't work on a Monday.
Iron uniform for the week
Make a meal plan (long Term)
Shopping List
Shopping in L'Dell
Giving blood this afternoon
Basic housework

That's all for now folks

    Thanks Mnd and beanielou.
Absolutely knackered today. Busy week and 2 late nights. Had to have a nap this afternoon. Bed early tonight. Don't feel like doing much. Signed up to Swagbucks so may as well do something less taxing before bed.

Bit of shopping today before Body Balance. Paid for petrol I got yesterday. Left my cards in another bag and only realised when I got to the till!!! oops. 24 hours to pay.

Bought cat food for our new addition. Stray cat had been hanging around for a while. Ears were sore so took him to the vets. Not chipped so we have had him sorted. Already neutered so must've had an owner at some time or a farm cat. He doesn't eat some food, especially the duck flavours so am experimenting at the moment. Would rather he eat it and it be a bit dearer than waste it.

Sorted out YNAB and it doesn't look good. Hubbie has not been able to sort any wages out yet. Am thinking about getting another job or doing some cleaning. Had a little cleaning job a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately the people moved house.

Concentrating on food budget as a start. Cook a lot from scratch so not a big deal. Made some lush potato cakes today with left over mashed potato. I buy a bag about once a month. Added a tin of salmon to make fish cakes too. Made lentil stew on Monday and am eating it up. Absolutely yummy. Planning to eat more vegetarian. Hubbie will from time to time, but doesn't like lentils. Fair enough as he's not fussy. Make a sweet potato and peanut stew with rice, which is actually vegan and we both like that. Am going to menu plan with what I've got this week. Tend to stockpile which is a good thing, but could be a lot better at stock rotation.

Hubbie been to football today as he bought a season ticket. Not back yet so am guessing he's celebrating as they won.

    That's all for now.

So excited that you have a diary.
I will definitely be over here cheering you on and stealing your recipes :)
Your fishcakes sound lovely. I've never thought of using tinned salmon for fishcakes, I will try that.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Thanks DIA you've inspired me in the past. Hopefully will get me a bit more focused.
The potato cake recipe is just mashed potato, flour(any type) and eggs. Then formed into rounds and fried with olive oil. I just added the tinned salmon to the mixture with ground pepper and lemon juice. Bet it would be lush with chopped herbs too I didn't even add any butter. potato cakes are a good substitute for bread too. Split one in half and spread with butter with lentil stew.
    Thank you Lupus-Lou

Well not much to see here.
Am having trouble getting anything done today. Spend too much time faffing around.
Am posting on here to get me sorted out. Went out last night and am probably tired. Didn't drink, so no hangover.
Too much to do,I know I need to break it down into smaller tasks and just get started, but it's sooooo hard.
Don't work on a Monday so can always put it off until tomorrow. Don't want to always be doing this.

    Time to crack on
    1. Put tombola items in loft
    2. Put washing away
    3. Start filing paperwork.Kitchen will be tidy then.
    4. Iron work uniform
    5. If time weed front garden, weedkiller and sort out pots.
    Here goes
