Should I sign on after being made redundant?

Options
Sorry if this sounds a little long winded but I was made redundant last June and only worked for the charity for 1 year and 6 months, so wasn't entitled to redundancy pay.

Since leaving I have had a break to get over what happened, because I loved the job I was doing.

My query is should I be signing on to claim benefits? I did a benefits calculator and have worked out due to my situation, i.e savings and living standards etc, that I would be £24 down a fortnight on what I would claim normally.

Can someone advise me please?

Are you actively seeking work ? Signing on will give you NI credits towards your state pension, how old are you, how much is your SP forecast ? Your call on being worth it.

Yes, it's likely to make sense to sign on as this will preserve your NI records.
