Best to have hot water come on when away?

Hello. I have an unvented system with the hot water cylinder in the loft. When on holiday I turn all the radiators off on my evohome system, leaving them on the frost protection setting. Is it ok to keep the hot water completely turned off for 2 weeks? Or is it best for it to heat up a couple of times a day to prevent nasties in it? Also worried about the cylinder and pipes freezing in the loft in this cold weather.

Keep it off, when you get back run the cold water for 5 minutes to flush the pipes then put the hot water back on.
No point wasting energy you will never use.0
