Kwik Fit Are Useless.

Before i continue, i know from the threads here and word of mouth Kwik Fit are generally not a place to take your car to

But i take my car to them still for wheel alignment and tyres only. Because they're generally well priced, quick and will re-check the alignment for free a week or so after it's done to make sure it's still perfect.

So my Dad's all trusty 106 had a bald tyre on the inside front. The other tyre was worn a fair bit, but all even.
So went to Kwik Fit and got 2 new tyres and i jacked up the car and found a worn track rod end.
Replaced both track rod ends and went to get wheel alignment done.
They declined and said the spring was broken on one side also.
Thanked them for being honest and ordered 2 new springs.

This is where the good experience of them ends though

After fitting the track rod ends, the wheel alignment was a fair bit out. After fitting the 2 new front springs it was out a bit more as the front end was no longer sagging.

Dad called up and asked if he could book it in. They said it's quiet and just to bring it in and they'll do it now. He dropped it off, gave them their number and they said they will call when it's ready and won't be long so he went for a walk as it's quite a distance from there to his home.
2 hours later, he had no call. He went back. Car hadn't moved.
He asked what was happening and apparently the machine they used for alignment wasn't working as a light wouldn't come on (used to be just mirrors when i was a lad and used to do it. No machine)
Low and behold a few moments after he queried it the machine was working again.
They put the car onto the ramps and after about 2 minutes said the wheel alignment is too far out for them to do it and suggested some other garages in the city might be able to do it.
Dad was quite annoyed at this stage (he's 70)

He called his friend and outside the front of the house between the 3 of us we got the alignment significantly better than it was using a tape measure, some straight bits of wood and string.
I suspect with it being a 2002 106 they expected things to be seized (nothing was when we adjusted it) and as they get paid their wage regardless if they do it or not, they decided to just decline

Amazed that 2 old men and someone who works in communication technology could do something Kwik Fit who specialise in alignment couldn't i put up a bad review on their page.
The social media staff then suggested i fill in more details so they can investigate further via an online form

I filled out all the details via the online form and submitted the complaint but they have now responded saying they can't acknowledge the complaint as it needs to be submitted by the person who had the negative experience and they can't assist with someone acting on their behalf.

Fitters who specialise in alignment yet turn you away when you have an alignment issue and social media staff who direct you to departments who can't help you and complaints departments that won't acknowledge complaints.
Useless.

A third party complaint won't get dealt with by the vast majority of companies I would have thought.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

Seems a bit foolish for their online social media staff to ask ME to submit a complaint on his behalf if that's the case. But then, when i look at everything else that's happened i'm not surprised.
