Hi,
I'd like to join in for 2015 please.
I'm happy to have the same number as last year and I'm going to set my target at the same as last year too, even though I didn't meet it.
So here's me:-

Evening all. Thanks for the new thread
Can i set a target of £1200 please. Going to be a tough year with lots of work on the house and a possible career change again. Not bothered what number i am allocated x0 -
I'm a newbie too, I'd like to overpay by £5000, just so I understand this is the overpayment not the reduction amount of the mortgage (that reduces with monthly repayments anyhow) if it's total mortgage reduction make that £11,000 !0

Hi Lomcevak,
Pleased to see this thread - thank you!!
We became debt free and new parents in 2014 so have less income based on my PT hours.
So we're going to attempt a stab at a mfw goal of £2,000.
Our mortgage is massive (>£210k) so we have a big undertaking but need to start with little steps for now.
Thanks, MIBMFW2020 #5 £2,000/2,000 MFW2021 #5 £1,850/3,500MFW2022 #5 £3.001/3,000Sep'12 £233,750 Jan'15 £222,329 Dec’21 £139,584 MFiT T4 #24 £48k/£34k MFiT T5 #24 £22,186/£41k MFiT T6 #24 £4,700/£29k0 -
I wasn't going to participate this year as I don't intend to work for a while, but got cold sweats at the thought of not doing anything!
So, I am back in again this year - No.92 (if I can please keep my number?!) a dramatically reduced target of £1k but this will be a greater challenge than when I was paying off stacks while working!!
Thank you for running the thread again - can't begin to tell you how much it has helped over the years!! :beer:Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

This will be my first go at setting a monetary target but why not aim high?
I am going to try to overpay £6000 this year.

I've done a first update to the list, hopefully haven't missed anybody off or got the wrong target - please let me know if i've made any mistakesI'd like to overpay by £5000, just so I understand this is the overpayment not the reduction amount of the mortgage
I look at it in terms of payments over and above the standard monthly repayment - there's not really a hard and fast rule though, some people have interest-only mortgages, split IO/repayment, BTLs, etc. and quite what constitutes an overpayment isn't always clear-cut. Above all the aim is for the thread to be motivation to take an extra step or two towards mortgage freedom, and i'm happy with whatever interpretation helps with that£40k-in-’23#18 £78,628.29/40,000 (196.57%)0 -
Hello, I'm setting a target of £1000 this year, a bit less than last years but I'm hoping to decrease the term in February when my fixed deal runs out which will increase my normal payments, I'm number 82, Thanks Lomcevak :beer:MFW 2014 #82 £2000 / £2000 MFW 2015 #82 £1200 / £1000
MFW 2016 #82 £1200 / £1000 MFW 2017 #82 £2350 / £20000 -
Having completely failed with this years target, I'm going to set myself an even more ambitious one for next year.
£8000
It will be a struggle, but I can't fail on the MFIT challenge as well, so sacrifices will have to be made.
If I can steal number 13 back from Amy that would be good, if not, whatever's spare.
Thanks Lomcevak.0
