Hi
Have an old pc, great for general work that I do at home, but now my son wishes to play some games on it!

Such as Hello Neighbor!!!8230;Which works but is really slow!

PC is T1600 Dell Precision tower, E3- 1225 (Xenon 4 core), 16gb DDR3,HD 6570, SSD and SATA drives and Windows 10 PRO
So looking to upgrade.

Guessing best bet would be to upgrade graphics, looked at GTX 1050 (£90)?

PSU only appears to be 265w so unsure if this should be upgraded?
Maybe motherboard, but getting lost here.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks

Add a better video card, but i doubt that will speed it up. Are you loading the games from the SSD or mechanical drive?

Use the SSD, if its too small fit a larger SSD.

    Hi
Current game is Hello Neighbor,(min spec GTX 770 v my HD6570 1GB), but guess wont be long before he wants to play the other current fads, going around school such as Fortnite.
    Monitor is 24" 1920x 1080. HDMI

    Games are on the SSD.
As long as he can play at an acceptable rate we will be happy
    Thanks

I'd go for a minimum Nvidia 1050 although the 1060 would give more headroom for future games. The 106 however is specced at 175W against the 1050's 75W so you'd possibly have to factor in a PSU upgrade with the 1060

I wouldnt buy a video card at current prices, i would be waiting 3 or 4 months to see how the prices compare.

£800+ for cards that originally cost £400 - £500 is just mad.

    Thanks have ordered a 1050.
New to this so will need to watch a few YouTube videos to install and get to work.

Purchased a GTX 1050 from CeX, got delivered next day and fitted this morning, actually took longer to install new drivers.
Have to say i'm amazed, best 3D score I could manage after playing around with trying to overclock and installing/reinstalling drivers etc, on CPU benchmark (they have a program that measures your pc) was 301 before. Just ran coming in at 5792 now.

The games I was trying to play before, now work and respond as they should! Really pleased.
