Thanks KM we are loving it! Never been to Sweden before but definitely want to come back to explore more. This part is very rural, seen lots of harvesting and dairy herds on our drive today! The house swapper seems very comfortable with our place too so it is all working out really well.

Morning, the sun is shining and looks like it will be a beautiful day. The garden looks out over a small wood and it's such a calming view, especially in the sunshine.

On Sat we took the kids to a soft play which is like no soft play in London - about five times the size of the biggest one we've been to, including trampolinesa and dodgems, plus an outside area with enormous inflatables - think 40ft slides! £30 spent including hot drinks (took our own snacks :shhh: ) and spent 4 hours there. DD1 played with the younger kids which was great as now harder to find activities that work for all of them.

Yesterday we went to Malmo, to their modern art gallery and a playground. We were a bit underwhelmed although there are lots of wet weather activities so imagine we'll go back once more. Spent £60 on petrol and £25 on Thai takeaway as a treat.

    £301 under budget :D.

I've just discovered I have Prime Reading so downloaded a few free mags and books to read :j!

I've been doing a little too much of the things that aren't great for me (like spending too much time on the internet!) so have pulled back a bit and wrote a list of my challenges at the moment, and progress made in the last few months, as well as listing my foundations. These are the basic things if I neglect I start to feel unwell - namely sleep, rest during waking hours, food, water, walking/exercise, and mindfulness.

Realised I have done a lot of the right things already over the last few months, and now plan to refocus on my foundations for the rest of the holidays. Got a better nights sleep and feel a bit better already.

Today we're planning a walk around a lake, and will read some of my free magazines :T. Home cooked chicken pasta tonight, and want to look up a waffle recipe as they have a waffle maker here would live to try for breakfast tomorrow, there's a lot of eggs to use up!

Yesterday we did a tiny trip to a nearby lake which was jaw droppingly beautiful, although DD2 took all her clothes off and kept trying to jump in - seeeng as she can't swim it was a bit stressful! Ended up taking them to the (freezing) outdoor swimming pool near our place instead. Despite chattering teeth, the kids still loved it. £10 spent.

Today we had a bigger day and took a ferry to Denmark! We took the car, and went to the brilliant Maritime Museum in Helsingor. Seriously, if you're ever there please go, one of the best museums I've been to in ages, and has English interpretation. I got in free with my museum card, kids all free and OH got 20% off with our ferry ticket, so about £10 for us all. Spent over 2.5 hrs there, it had a huge room full of Lego so hard to get kids to leave! Bit of stress in shop which ended up with DS buying a set of Lego, which cost about twice the UK price! It with his own birthday money though so not holiday budget.

Then had a short drive to an art gallery called Louisiana, which has its own children's wing, beautiful grounds and world class art. We didn't have long there and OH ended up staying with a sleeping DD2 in the car so missed it entirely. I really loved it though and really hope to come back for a full day there. It had sea views and hills to roll down and a pier to jump into the sea too if you're brave enough!

We stopped for takeaway pizza on a nearby beach where the 2 youngest ran into the sea fully clothed :rotfl:!

Denmark stole a little bit of my heart today. We're home now, took a while and kids difficult on way back but so glad we did the trip. £110 spent today, but still £381 under budget overall :T.

£13.62 payout claimed from TCB :j

£5 Am@zon voucher earned unexpectedly from survey I was invited to after entering a competition I didn't win :j

Today we are staying at home and going for a little walk so should be cheap/free day and hopefully full of rest as we are all exhausted from yesterday.

OH using up eggs for an omelette lunch. Kids watching Ice Age for I'm too embarrassed to say how many times today! :o DD2 did get me up early in my defence!

That sounds like a fabulous holiday. Welcome home.

Thank you, it's been a wonderful holiday and we still have three whole days here :j.

Best bit about house swapping is knowing I'll come back to a clean and tidy house :T so will be a great welcome home too.

Just had a wonderful three hour walk in the woods around our home, so beautiful and relaxing. DD1 now doing DD2's nails on the front lawn, the sun is out and it's simply wonderful.

Been reading Tilly's diary from the beginning the last few weeks (not yet half way through :rotfl:) and what has really struck me is the sense of gratitude that runs throughout. Focusing on the joy of each day, posting daily, checking in with finances daily, volunteering, thinking of others and savouring each meal seems to have made for an unstoppable strength which demolished a hefty mortgage many years before schedule. I'm trying to bring this form of appreciation and focus to my own life, and posting regularly (even when on holiday) is really helping me develop this mindset.

Thanks Tilly for your diary, you really are a gift :A.

Managed to block our bank cards whilst doing Mr T shop so need to phone this morning to unblock !

Shop completed with OH's personal account, used £6 off voucher and gained an extra 100 points with bonus vouchers. £66ish, enough basics for a week, and lunches for us all, although only a few dinners so hopefully can eek out with store cupboards / freezer supplies. It will arrive when we get home and includes a few easy pizzas, so it'll be much less likely that OH / DD1 will request takeaway:rotfl:!

Meant to be having early start to a local zoo but this is the one morning DD1 has slept in so everyone else is asleep still!

Will make packed lunch and enjoy the peace and quiet for a few more minutes!
