Hi, I am looking to get a new Qashqai N-Connecta model, preferably the 138BHP 1.3 Digi-T petrol.

I am trading in a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0L Diesel 2013 model which we will only get around £200 for once the finance is settled as we are only just over half way through paying it.

Our local Nissan showroom has quoted us £265 per month for 4 years which they say is giving us a good deal and cannot go any lower, that is with our insignia plus £500 deposit.

We don't mind if they had a new one / pre reg or year old one to buy on finance but from what we have seen they would still be more per month than the £265 we have been quoted to lease.

They said for every additional £500 we put in for deposit would lower the monthly fee by around £12 per month.

I am wondering if anyone knows if this is actually a good deal though or if it can be done cheaper if anyone knows?

Also does anyone know, when you lease a car this way, what happens at the end of the lease of there are minor marks on the car, i don’t mean anything bad, just the odd little mark you could get, do they charge you at the end to repair them?

If anyone can help or give advice on any ways to get it cheaper that would be great.

Thanks

James I lease 2nd car now

First car a seat Leon SE Dyn Tech cost £172.44 per month incl VAT on a 3+33 deal. Went back early as new car built earlier than quoted Seat (VWFS) charged me 55% of remaining monthly payments so £300

It had a badly scuffed alloy, some heavy deep scratching around boot and rear bumper and worn main carpet under clutch - they let everything go other than the alloy which they charged £36 for

The is a BVLA fair use guide read that for a good idea - I have heard and found VW to be fair and heard others harsher

Car is never yours only renting it so drive and care for it remembering it’s somebody else’s , stick to agreed mileage and have it serviced in time at main dealer and all should be fine - maybe don’t be fussy about colour or spec for greater choice and avoid options unless free as these are added to the monthly cost - although Met paint often included

I used a Brooker for this and previous car they were excellent and got me a deal far cheaper than any pcp deal. Current car a VW Troc SEL is £231 per month for 2 years far less cost of 2 years than depreciation so for me a no brainer. Will need only 1 service , no mot or tyres or brakes and has warranty, road tax and breakdown for full term

Shop around the brokers and you will get a better deal than pcp

    It's extortionate.

But all lease deals depend on mileage.

    £12 x 48 months = £576 - so, yep, roughly £500 + interest.

I don't think OP is talking a 'proper' lease deal but sounds more like PCP as he is teading a car in. Either way at the end they will measure any damage against BVLRA guidelines. If there is any damage then you are best getting it repaired yourself.
