CCJ and company owed to no longer trading

Options
Hi first post here so be gentle.

I am currently in the process of clearing my debt in anticipation of buying my first home. In amongst a credit search I notice I have a CCJ which needs sorting. It was bascially a wage dispute with a previous employer and everything was sent to the wrong address so by the time I noticed it on my file it was past the month date where it could be resolved and removed from my file.

After a bit of digging I can 99% confirm this company no longer exists, so what happens to the debt? Can it be removed from my credit file or does it still need to be paid and if so to who?

Had I known this has gone to court in the first place I would have gone to court and fought it.

I have never received any debt collecter letters regarding this either or any form of contact other than it being on my credit file?

Obviously it goes without saying I would rather not pay it at all.
Any advice would be welcomed.
