I will be abroad for a few months for work and my landloard reduced my rent from £490/month to £450/month and i did allow him to have a friend sleeping in my room
Is this a fair deal?
any suggestion will be very appreciative
Thank you very much in advance for your support

Eh?
Are you a lodger or a tenant?
You have agreed for someone to stay in your room yet continue to pay for that room.
Doesn't work for me...
If I was still paying I would expect it to stay empty and all my stuff safe and secure0 -
The only fair deal is whatever you and your landlord can mutually agree is fair.
What anyone else thinks of a private arrangement between you and your landlord is frankly irrelevant.0 -
How much rent is this "friend" going to pay? Probably a lot more than £40 a month.
Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for your landlord, not so good for you. If it were me in that situation I'd be looking to pay 50% or less. Basically you're just paying him to store your stuff while you're away.0 -
Who will be paying the household bills in your absence - you, the landlord or his friend?0

now that you told him, whether you allow or not, he might try it on as your away"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I think that as a deal it sucks....for you that is.0

I don't think he is going to charge his friend0

I don't think he is going to charge his friend
so my guess is that you have now answered your own original question over whether it was a fair deal.
Why charge his friend when the bulk of the rent is being paid by you.in S 38 T 2 F 50
