No. Don't follow any advice given by MSE

Follow the advice in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of this forum

There's a template appeal to use there

    Send it as is.

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving - you already have had this advice here in #2

You need to edit your posts to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you

Could I still appeal explaining all this, or would it do any good?

Appeal as per the advice above, but you will not be explaining anything. The details of your case are irrelevant, and will not help you.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The online appeal thing is asking for a reason, with a long drop down list, what should I choose?

    Generally "Other" is best.

Can we not have this every time? It's like Groundhog Day, and surely we don't have to spoon feed posters with which option to choose, every time someone appeals.

This has been answered far too often, including on Excel threads and AFAIK there is no 'other' - but there is an obvious safe option that doesn't imply the driver.

    Enough already.

Sorry to be thick, i've never done this before.

There is no 'other' option and I don't want to implicate myself so need help please.

I was thinking a medical reason, but not sure.

Appeal by email, or by snail mail (with free Certificate of Posting from your PO counter) - not every one has computer access, so snail mail must be an option?

Both above avoid the need to incriminate yourself via their booby-trap drop-down box.

Nor has anyone - most people here are new - but it's hardly difficult to skim past all those that say 'I' and pick out the blinking obvious:

the charge notice was not fixed to my vehicle

Clearly that is safe and says nothing.

Can we never have this question ever asked again, please? Come on, be confident and proactive.
