Question about new deal course content

Options
As regards the content of the course, playing games, doing quizzes, team crosswords etc, making things out of paper. Who decides the course content curious?

As the providers loathe to spend any of the money the Jobcentre pays them to provide actual training and help to gain employment, they'll go for the cheapest option which is the bare minimum until they can pass you back on to the Jobcentre.

They're designed (for the most part) as an irritation, but if you're genuinely looking for work (and can read/write/create a CV and put it in an envelope), they're a hinderance.

Sorry but as a provider I have to say this is not true. JCP dont even pay the providers, it comes from funding. Providers do care about the outcomes and progressions into employment. Even the most cynical must understand that some of the areas Ofsted inspect are success rate, outcomes and progressions. To provide a second rate training course to save money could have a huge impact on an Ofsted report and so reduce funding and commercial income in the future. The content is agreed and must meet certain criteria to meet the funding requirements.

And people complain about layabout doley's when in fact they do exactly the same on courses only the cost to taxpayer is somewhere in the region of 40 million ?

Not aimed at you Red Devil , but one would think A4e could at least try and justify the disgusting amount they charge. ( I take it thats who the course provider is Red Devil ?)

No wonder many people looking for work are disillusioned and demoralised .

I hope you find something soon .
    Never tell .

I dont know but for it to get funding there must be a scheme of work in advance of the course highlighting the course content.

Social interaction, getting your mind working again ... All skills that you are likely to be lacking as a long term dole claimant.
    Gone ... or have I?
