I had a problem last year on one of our cars that sounded like stuck/sticking hydraulic tappets but there were no error codes showing. Finally took it a specialist and again there were no error codes but their reaction was: "If there are no error codes then it has to be something simple" and it was - 2 loose spark plugs!!!!

Hopefully yours might turn out to be something simple - broken earth lead, or similar?

You haven't just started to use the spare key have you.
Friend of mine mislaid his key, so they tried to use the spare key that his wife always carried in her handbag, never used for ages (years). Car wouldn't start, AA out to it, taken to a reputable garage with diagnosticequipment, still wouldn't start.Just about given up on it!
The original key turned up and for some reason, probably desperation they tried it, car started right away.
Apparently for some reason the spare key had either lost it's programing or become corrupt.
Never heard of this before, but it did happen
The other side of the coin, if you have a spare key have you tried it??

Good luck and let us know the outcome

Hi on a Vauxhall this would come up as a wrong key/ key not recognised error,
    normally code P1614,
The key is made into two parts the remote, and transponder to start the car.
again need to know age as cim module is common on these
We may not win by protesting, but if we don’t protest we will lose.
If we stand up to them, there is always a chance we will win.

Until the OP comes back and answers the very first question that they were asked everybody is wasting their time in this thread - and the OP's recent posting record would suggest that might well be the case even if they do answer the question.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe its not that urgent
