Great Student Summer Job Hunt!

Hey.. I think we should start a hunt for summer jobs..

Uni careers service has about 15 jobs listed - and none of them seem very inspiring..

I want to do something computer based really.. I'm a freelance web designer in my spare time so finding extra work for that would be good.. but yeah.. would do admin/office work if really necessary but would prefer not to. Would also be interested in something a little different.. any ideas? (not horticulture or agriculture though!!! - no fruit picking!! heh)

even more scary i gotta get a job in the summer...just over 2 months till i graduate and become unemployed

anyone out there want to employ a computer science graduate with high grades in and around london

hahah good luck in your search lellie...talk to feederweb, i think their site is pretty badly designed at the moment, in my opinion

other than that email companys. i got pretty lucky last summer and worked with a LARGE company, ring up Hays i think it is...hays consultancy, thats who i was employed through.

other than that...ive done car parking at large festivals and events?! thats always fun

£5ph and free gigs/shows....not really one for the CV tho.

hehe.. I know what you mean about feederweb.. had a go at candida when the new site went up.. at first it didn't even work in firefox - until I shouted!

Even if they gave me a job - which they won't.. I don't want to work in London! heh.

I'm gonna get my new web design portfolio finished and pimp it big style.. but other than that.. hmm.

I currently work for Pearsons - in their theory test centres.. but won't be able to get enough hours this summer.. meh.

*groans* I have to get a job too........boo.... been applying since JANUARY for jobs and STILL not getting any replies apart from really crappy ones!! ARRGGHH

I got work from the summerjobs one last year... and they are v.g at sending out job updates.. just not suitable for what i do (Criminology)

I'd also recommend having a look at University websites around the area you want to work, sometimes companies go direct to the Universities and some things pop up that aren't on normal recruitment sites.
