Okay, going to go for these next:

Velvet Toilet Roll- 50p (exp 2 weeks, prints 2/bottom)
    http://www.velvetbabymd.co.uk and
    http://www.velvettissue.com/campaign...laim-tree.aspx [added 29/5/10]

ASDA don't sell the four packs, as far as I can see, so no RTD voucher, but four rolls of quality toilet paper for £1.25 is a bargain. Eight coupons printed, £10 cash ready, next four days shopping sorted. It'll do while I wait for something as good as the Fairy Softener again.

Since DTD ended, I've now set myself a challenge of spending less than £10 a week on groceries, toiletries and cleaning products. All of this week's budget is going on loo roll - it's a good thing I have a load of DTD food in, then!

Good luck with the velvet tissue :) I'll have to investigate that one, and compare it to £3.59 for 18 rolls that I would usually buy.

I've stocked up on butter today. Asda selling blocks of countrylife at 50p. T's is £1.30. Used a 30p coupon on each butter, making the nett cost just 20p each (although I used ann RTD towards the bill! lol) The blocks can be frozen.

    This was my shop today:

£10.18 total spend, less fairy and countrylife coupons, plus an RTD voucher, left me just 6p to pay :j

And submitting that receipt, should give me £5.70 back on a further RTD :)

Point to note though, the self service tills only happily accepted 2 coupons, before the rest had to be authorised by the SA.

Hope the £10 spend per week target that you've set yourself will go well.

I used to budget £40 per week for groceries/tioiletries etc, for 2 teenage DS's and myself. Will aim to reduce that too. It should only be fresh meat/veg/fruit that I need to buy.

I keep a track each month of everything I spend. It does help to focus you on the outgoings, and where you could potentially save money.

I also work out cashflow/bank balances at the beginning of each month. I work out what will be left after planned D/D's normal expenditure, and then immediately shift the bulk of any remaining to a savings account. Leaving just a minimal cushion, just in case it's needed.

Don't forget Martin's :money: mantras Do I need it? Can I afford it? If the answer is no, don't buy it!

Already got myself a few aswell as keep getting loads of coupons from the velvet money tree promotion/competition.

Oh, brilliant - so I can get more vouchers through the 'tree' rather than the 50p coupon link below? If so, I may be getting more than four day's worth of this item!

Midwinter - I'm looking at the loo roll as a 'treat'. There are better deals around for larger packs but a) these are easier to carry on the walk home, b) they're still a reasonable price with the coupon discount, especially as I usually buy Value, c) I'll count the extra spend as part of my massive DTD savings and d) I can rid myself of the piddly DTD vouchers I have remaining from wombles, etc (actually, thinking about this one, I only have one that fits with the total £2.50 spend on this item and that's the final £1.40 from the Fairy Softener today).

I still haven't spent any 'big' vouchers since DTD ended, I've just been reprinting the oldest one each day to give me more time to spend them. I'm currently putting together two shopping lists for tomorrow though - one voucher on items that are cheaper in Tesco (thus killing it) and one voucher on items cheaper in ASDA (thus getting a RTD voucher back).

I bought 13 countrylife butter, 2 fairy f softener and 1 philadelphia used a DTD voucher plus coupons for the philly and the fairy so only paid 29p. Today I got a RTD for £11.48. The philly came back as £2.12 at asda for 300g. Still pleased to get the butter at such a good price.

I think it was the 200g Philly that was cheaper in A's, but the voucher is for 300g.

I'm looking forward to work on Wednesday and a new IP address for the fairy! Knowing my luck though, A's fairy will be up to full price by then!

I thought the philly voucher was for 200g, have lost the link now so will have to go on a hunt.
No matter though as I think they are both cheaper in Tesco, better off buying it there on a 'normal' shop.

    200g £1.34 Tesco, £1.37 Asda
    300g £1.75 Tesco, £2.12 Asda

Also, 300g are 2 for £3 at Tesco.
