Hi all:(
My husband does not do internet banking with HSBC. He has an account wth them though and today found out that two transactions have gone through that he did not make and authorise. They were two payments using paypal. He has been in touch with paypal and they are looking in to it. So far, he has had £160 approx stolen from his HSBC bank account. The payments seem to have gone to some fraudster's account, looking at the paypal info. It's Sunday and I just wondered if there is a fraud helpline or telephone line to HSBC so he could inform them before going in to branch tomorrow (Monday). He is in possession of his bank card and has not used it, other than to check the balance in the cashpoint or take out cash. This is an odd type of fraud.
Anyone know a fraud reporting helpline for hsbc for England, UK? Or anyone else had a problem with paypal and money going out of their bank unauthorisd?:)
Thanks.:A

Why does your husband not do internet banking ?
He could spot anything untoward much sooner and get it sorted.0 -
I manage most of our money in my account(luckily) as he has had a stroke. The hsbc sign up was rather complicated- me trying to do it for him and the process wasn't straight forward, may see if they can set it up for him in the bank tomorrow.0
