Afternoon all,
Quick question, just done a credit check.
There is a default account from 2016 on my account. With o2 for the sum of £24.38 - this was passed onto Lowell Financial.
The sum is now settled, i was never aware of this and was never contacted about it. It appears to have occurred when i changed phone contracts with o2, they started a new one. At the same time i moved address, they never updated the old account with my new address. Therefore i was never made aware of the debt.
Since then i've settled the account with o2 - Lowell financial now say it is 'settled'.
BUT this remains on my credit report - applying for a mortgage this makes a big difference. Is there anything i can do to get this default account removed?
Thanks in advance.

No. It will drop off 6 years from default.
But a two year old settled default won't be the end of the world.0 -
TBH thats what i'm thinking, especially for the amount concerned.0

If it was a default, it stays on for 6 years from the default date, and as it is now settled is less impact as time goes on. Its more a worry if you have several defaults. Its not unheard of upgrades resulting in a new contract that goes unpaid, since commission is more on a new contract than an upgrade.0
