You won't 'quell' them, you just ignore them. How to ignore a debt collector (if you need it) is covered in full in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4.

Don't ignore a formal Letter of Claim or court papers from the Northampton CCBC. Neither of which will emanate from any debt collector. Come back on this thread if you receive either. The PPC has 6 years to pursue this to court.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, as it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

:rotfl: You won't until the six years is up, that's how they wear lesser mortals down by bullying, threatening and being downright pains in the rear end.
• fantastic stuff,
this is just a hypothetical question..

what if i happened to come across the owner of a not so specific debt company, mother, father, nanny, grampa, boyfriend, sister, nieces, uncles, etc etc through tracing,
how do i stand in asking them directly (via mail/messenger etc) to stop harassing me. all politely of course, (manners maketh the man)

I mean they are mailing me direct, so surely i can mail them direct no ?

i may tell you.... I have a specific set of skills....

Why waste your time chasing after powerless muppets?

And if you start contacting people unrelated/barely related to such a firm, well - that in itself could end badly.
