Hello. Obviously I'm looking for cheap and sensible options but do you need a special shoe type of shoe for pilates? I'm not even sure what Pilates is but I'm going for a taster session with a couple of other fools. I don't even possess trainers! Any tips/ Thank you.
Be Thankful and Gracious.

Bare feet or socks.0

I have been dong Pilartes just over a term and find grippy socks (from a trampoline place) are best. For a taster bare feet or normal socks are fine.0

Though no socks will block the smell of a fungal infection so if you are worried your feet smell, get things checked out or the smell wont go away! Pilates is fine in bare feet though, I do Pilates in bare feet as the vast majority of the class do. Some start off in socks but they never last long before taking them off to make things easier!
I'd loosely suggest to bring your own mat but that's entirely your decision, I just find I can relax a bit better when I'm laying on my own mat as some of the mats in studios I've been to have looked less than clean and some have even had trainer foot prints on them from being jumped on!0
