This seems to have taken over my garden this year. I did my back in so was unable to weed. I still cannot dig them out. I bought organic weedkiller which did nothing. I then brought in the bad boys that I did not want to use. They had glyphosate which I thought would kill anything. One week later and they look untouched. Remembering that I cannot dig or hoe, does anyone have any suggestions? Even worse is they are choking my plants. Oops Creeping buttercup.

    Ditto, just be patient & give it time to work. First signs maybe leaves distorting. You will not see them turn brown & shrivelled up as you would with a contact weedkiller

    If so I'll defer to the other posters. I use flame for spot weeding things that aren't too deep rooted, or have only just germinated, or creep along the surface...

    Creeping buttercup is a tough weed. Glyphosate will eventually do the job, though it might take two applications six weeks apart to knock it out.

    Even Grazon 90, which I use to spot weed docks and thistles in the fields only makes buttercup shrivel for a while, before it recovers. The other weeds are dead in one application. There are a few pro weedkillers that hit buttercups hard, but I have so many of he latter, I prefer not to worry about them.

    In your situation, glyphosate is your best bet. It'll work, given the usual response time.

    If it's among other plants, application by paintbrush is possible too. I used to mix mine with a bit of wallpaper paste for extra 'stick.'
