That's exactly what I did and it works a treat for me, this seems the best offer at the moment, https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/printers-scanners-and-ink/printers/hp-envy-5020-wireless-all-in-one-printer-10167992-pdt.html0 -
I've got this one: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/printers-scanners-and-ink/printers/hp-officejet-pro-6960-all-in-one-wireless-inkjet-printer-with-fax-10146584-pdt.html
It's a bit on the large side, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with the space.0 -
If you don't use your printer that frequently, what about just using a print/scan service at a stationers shop?
For example, https://www.ryman.co.uk/services/printIf you want to be rich, live like you're poor; if you want to be poor, live like you're rich.0 -
A USB stick and a trip to my local library is much more cost effective than buying printer ink !0

As I understand it (but please correct me if I am wrong) with Instant Ink running the cleaning cycle doesn't count as a page out of your quota?
I think the system is particularly good value if you want to print photographs as it counts by the page and not by how much ink it uses?
I don't use it personally, as I need to print too much stuff, but I have several friends who do and they seem very happy with arrangement.0 -

Also, my printer takes 4 cartridges, and HP charge the same price on II as for 2 cartridge machines. (They are not cheap, either - a full set of 3x colour + 1x BlackXL is about £55 for genuine HP).I don't use it personally, as I need to print too much stuff, but I have several friends who do and they seem very happy with arrangement.0 -
I have tried all brands of inkjet printer over the years and they all failed due to low usage I now have a mono laser printer and go to boots for my odd colour photo's done on site on their self service machine's."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

Can you run the scanner without installing cartridges, as you use your other printer for copies?0

I was thinking on the same lines and ordered this three days ago.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075DTHV7H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The price when I ordered was £18.99 but now reverted back to its original."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
