Does anyone know of a shop or auction house in the London area to get good quality used furniture?.
Thanks.

Any particular area? There are loads of rec yards & house clearance places - generally in the slightly run down areas of E London, SE London, N London (Tottenham) etc.
Ebay is also pretty good
https://www.thegumtree.com has a used furniture section & also freebies section which is pretty useful. One day everything I earn will be mine and not the banks... ::rotfl:0 -
I did a google search for auctions around manchester a few months ago and found loads and also info on the stuff that customs, police etc offer after its been seized, don't know if theres any in London but i would imagine its one of the best places to find stuff.

For second hand furniture, Have a look if you have a British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical shop nearby..I'm in north surrey and there are 2 nearby.. sometimes they have good stuff ..A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

I joined my local group of 'freecycle.org' last week, following a post on here under a different thread.

We narrowly missed out on a solid oak wardrobe, but managed to get nearly a whole pack of unused paving bricks. This is all for nothing.
Well worth joining, and see what turns up.
With regard to auctions, our local daily evening papers have a page dedicated to the local auctions every Saturday. They usually list a number of the items available at the next auction. This gives a good idea whether that auction house specialises, or has more general sales. Some auction houses even put their catalogue on line to view in advance, without you having to send for one.0
