    Also, you have to get your timing right with re-mortgaging as well. You don't want say £50K tied up in c/c debt at least 3 months before applying. or you wont get the best deals, or even declined, which would probably negate the interest earned elsewhere.

    Would you get declined if you keep the same mortgage provider?

    No, because you probably wouldn't have to go through a credit check again, unless you were re- mortgaging for more, like an extension, or if you moved house.
    But then , you might be not on the best rate available for re-mortgaging if you did take another rate with the same provider.
