    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's bright and sunny here this morning. The girls have exams so they are rushing around getting ready. DD14 has her therapist coming this afternoon so I will have a quick tidy up before she arrives.

I have just spent the last 20 mins filling the slow cooker with beef, peppers and spices. Fingers crossed it will become caribbean pepperpot stew by tea time. I didn't have any jerk seasoning so I found a recipe online and made my own. It certainly smells nice so I am optomistic.

Nelski, my thoughts are with you and your family x
Tru, you sound really fed up, I second what karcher says. Enjoy your down time x

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Looks to be another nice day here, we went up the pub last night and had a meal sitting out in the sun one or two wines may have been consumed as well  it was a lovely evening.

Back to reality and work today why do the weekends go so quickly ! At the quiet site today though so an easy start to the week.

Will pull something out of the freezer after this there is mince in there or some chicken bits.

Lawn was mowed yesterday and I potted on some plants so garden is looking nice.

Hollyharvey invest in a shopping trolley. My first one I bought at a bootsale for £2.50 and served me for over 10 years Great if you fancy a walk with shopping to lug home at the end of it.Especially when its potato's or heavy cartons of milk etc.My youngest DD bought me a nice pink one a couple of years ago as my old battered 'dolly trolley' was past its best :) and both the DDs have used it to nip across to my local shopping centre for bits .Its even come on holiday with us and used to transport stuff to the beach ,picnic, kites, balls, cricket bats etc.Sits in my porch at all times .
Sun is up and shining already and it looks like a nice day ahead. hope everyone has a good day and it shines down on you all

Nels <<hugs >> for you all

    Cheers chums

  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, thoughts with Nelski just now.

Bright morning, washer on with a coloured load, it will dry on the line. Waiting for the workman, the drawer front fell off on Thursday night, I managed to get it to stay on by plugging the hole with a piece of matchstick and screwing into it, but it really needs bigger screws. Either that or the holes filling with wood filler and the screws putting back in. I want him to check all the drawers in the kitchen whilst he is here, might as well get everything sorted at once.

Monday clean to do, will not be able to put the Dyson on till the chap has been, I cannot hear the bell, so will clean but leave the hoovering till a bit later. The floor in the wet room need a good mop. I really could do with anew mop, I have had mine for a number of years and its rather tatty..........I did look and see in Wilko's if I could get a new head, but they have changed the design of the handle, typical.

Guess OH will be in the garden he had put a frame work round the strawberries, he wants to put the net over, keep the birds off.

I have to bite the bullet and do the ring pillow, the wedding is in two weeks, want to get it finished by the weekend, ready to go, so fingers crossed that the machine and thread behave.

    Morning everyone,

TRU I think that going on strike is a very good idea, put your feet up and enjoy that book!
Thoughts are with Nelski and their family x

Dry and reasonably bright here, WM is on and am about to tackle Mount Ironmore, later I will pop out to our local NT property as my middle DN is a keen baker and they have some really cute measuring spoons am sure she would like for her birthday. There is also a working mill there and you can buy their bread flour so will pick up a couple of bags whilst I'm at it.

The strawberry plants look good Deleted_User :)

Have a good day everyone, take care folks x

Good morning everyone, thanks to Judi for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs or wants one. My thoughts are with Nelski and her family.

Tru - hope you are getting some placards made!!!;)

I'm feeling a tad frustrated - until recently my tinnitus has been low level but for the last few days it has really ramped up and it's driving me to distraction:mad: think it might be time to research a noise masking device.

The weather is murky so doubt I'll get much done outside so an admin day I think. I managed to get my greenhouse set up yesterday and my cucumber plants are now in their final pots and in residence. I'll gradually pot on my tomatoes and get them in there as well and I can start to get my conservatory back.:)

Hope everyone has a good day x

You get up and make everyone a cuppa, every sodding day. When they want another, they make one for themselves and don't offer you one.
You're second in line for the shower, someone else nips in while your back is turned and they're in there for ages. Then someone who doesn't even bloody live here jumps in after that and takes even longer. The windows are wide open even though you've said to leave them shut til you've been in there yourself. And you find wet, screwed up flannels in the cubicle when you eventually manage to get in there yourself at 12.03pm. 12.03pm!!
Your hairdryer is being used to dry clothes because someone forgot to hang them up to dry, other things are hung over the fence because it's the only place that gets sun first thing in the morning. Even though that load of washing was first put in the machine 24 hours ago and they've had plenty of time to hang it up.
Things are bought, the packets opened and left on the side for you to put away – which you do because you can't stand messy worktops and it would be nice to have space to do kitcheny things, like make food.
You go to put washing in the machine but can't because someone has put their washing on – then gone out for the day. So you pull their stuff out of the machine and leave it directly on the floor where it lands. Wooden floor, but I'm past caring.
And many other things which would take far too long to type out.

Welcome to my world. I take so much and then i bite back. The muddy trainers Youngest dumped in the middle of the kitchen floor when we got back from Devon got slung in the conservatory instead of being cleaned and put away like i asked. He hates it when i chuck his trainers in the washer but thats exactly what i did.... Come up lovely they have. Probably destroyed 3 months of their life but there you go. He's been stuck in his room all weekend... no excuse for it.

Back to today and now. I dunno where to start.:(

Hollyharvey invest in a shopping trolley.

Having just walked back from Tesco I think I will have a look in the shops in town tomorrow for a trolley. There are a few shops that sell them. I didn't think what I had bought weighed too much because I only had a basket and it didn't feel heavy walking around the store. It was about a mile into my walk home that I realised just how heavy it was and I became a bit shaky from trying to carry it. Whe I got in I had to have a 15 minute lie down before I could even put the shopping away.

I don't know why I hadn't thought of buying one before. If I get one I could probably also stop having the online deliveries for some of the heavier/bulky stuff because I always find it hard to make an order up the minimum to check out. I think that because of that I waste money because I buy things I wouldn't have otherwise. xx

Expecting joiners early this morning to finish off the upstairs bedroom storage so set the alarm clock. had a shower and washed my hair, loaded dishwasher and washing machine.

One of the joiners came round this morning to say the other joiner is not very well so arranged for them to come round tomorrow instead.

Washing is now on the line outside and dishwasher is whirring away and wheelie bins moved to the kerb for tomorrow morning.

Middle dd is going to paint the upstairs bedroom next time she stays over and we thought of painting the storage cupboard doors white or the same shade as walls. Just had a brainwave that we could get another roll of "bookcase" wallpaper similar to the one used in the bigger bedroom which looks stunning and paste that onto the doors.

Planning a quiet afternoon watching tv and hand sewing the hem of dd's dress. I found that what I had already sewed was the wrong shade of thread so went to York yesterday to get a better match and will unpick it and redo it.

You go on strike for all you are worth and enjoy it.

Tru I order you to make only one cup of tea for you first thing in the morning from now on, then immediately lock yourself in the bathroom and have a very leisurely, long shower then open the window as wide as possible ;)

Anything that is left out deposit it on their beds..including wet towels, face cloths and clothes along with any food stuff they have neglected to put away or dirty dishes they have neglected to wash up...etc

Finally continue to strike at leisure :D

Oh and PS: hide your hairdryer!
Tru I concur with everything Karcher says - and I'd also be inclined to knock some heads together for good measure! :D

I feel your pain - mine's been driving me to utter distraction. I have a device that I have on at night, which gives out a choice of soothing sounds to mask tinnitus (my favourite is the sound of a babbling brook) but I have yet to find something to cope with the daytime. :(

On a better note, Cassie appears to be recovered from her upset tummy; she's brighter in herself today, and asked for her breakfast, which she enjoyed, and she's had a lovely walk in the park. A ball game in the garden is on the agenda in a little while. :o
