This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all,
Oops got the date wrong, silly me.
Slept well, still taking anti histamines though. I've tried to stop taking them but fail to get a good night's sleep without them.
Youngest has just left for work and hubby is just getting up. He's not looking forward to going back to the building site after his week off.
Not sure what today will bring. Just lots of cleaning.
Nelski still thinking of you and your precious Dad. Much love xxx
Onwards and forwards

Morning All
You are in my thoughts Nelski.
Looks like it may be a better day today, we had lots of rain over the weekend and it wasn't particularly warm either.
Washing hanging about the house, should be dry by the time I get home from work, DW emptied and rubbish/recycling put in the appropriate bins.
Had a good weekend catching up with friends and booked a couple of holidays last night. I'm going to the South of France for a week and tried to get from there to DSs in The Hague but it's cheaper and easier to come home for a night and set off again!
Gers - If you are driving down the side of Loch Lomond today, have a look at the bluebells on the hills, particularly by Luss, they are stunning.
4 day week for me as it's a long weekend ahead. Happy Monday. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Judi - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit. Have a wash load ready to go out on the line, will do that shortly. I'll also water the plants and greenhouse.
Lunch yesterday was duck legs in red wine, mash, carrots, broc and peas, lovely it was and a nice change to roast, tonight we'll be having smoked sausage and mushroom pasta in a creme fraiche sauce, menfolk will have a breaded chicken portion with theirs.
Yesterday we went to visit DH's granddad, he's struggling and finding life very lonely - DH commented on how frail he has become, he isn't what I call frail but certainly is not so good as he was. He was grateful for our visit and seemed a bit brighter when we left.
Once we were home the menfolk got the front and back grass cut and then they altered the settings on the mower as it wasn't really set right and this has made a much better job. I prepped and cooked the lunch and then did the pack ups so they are all sorted for today.
Back to work today for me, I'm expecting it to busy - we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
You get up and make everyone a cuppa, every sodding day. When they want another, they make one for themselves and don't offer you one.
You're second in line for the shower, someone else nips in while your back is turned and they're in there for ages. Then someone who doesn't even bloody live here jumps in after that and takes even longer. The windows are wide open even though you've said to leave them shut til you've been in there yourself. And you find wet, screwed up flannels in the cubicle when you eventually manage to get in there yourself at 12.03pm. 12.03pm!!
Your hairdryer is being used to dry clothes because someone forgot to hang them up to dry, other things are hung over the fence because it's the only place that gets sun first thing in the morning. Even though that load of washing was first put in the machine 24 hours ago and they've had plenty of time to hang it up.
Things are bought, the packets opened and left on the side for you to put away – which you do because you can't stand messy worktops and it would be nice to have space to do kitcheny things, like make food.
You go to put washing in the machine but can't because someone has put their washing on – then gone out for the day. So you pull their stuff out of the machine and leave it directly on the floor where it lands. Wooden floor, but I'm past caring.
And many other things which would take far too long to type out.
I'm on strike.
Nels I'm thinking of you xx
Definites for today involve walking Scampi and some work. Not entirely sure how to fill the rest of the day but my book is waiting for me on the coffee table, there are recorded programs to watch and I have plenty of yarn. So I'll just do whatever I fancy, when I fancy it

Good morning all, we have had a busy weekend. DS has flown off to the States, he will be there for a month. His packing skills are not exactly legendary so I will not dwell on that, he and O.H were shrieking with laughter while repacking.
I seem to have a surprisingly tidy house and a dry floor in the bathroom.
I know he'll have a wonderful time an experience of a lifetime but but but .....
TA I hope you have a good break though not sure you will see this.
Nelski you are in my thoughts.
I must get ready for work as everI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
I'm at work and have been for a while, I was reading until 2am and then awake by 4am, I'm going to neither use nor ornament today.
Captain Hot Stuff is on the early shift so we will be boat painting after work each day.
Have a good day everyone.

Tru I order you to make only one cup of tea for you first thing in the morning from now on, then immediately lock yourself in the bathroom and have a very leisurely, long shower then open the window as wide as possible
Anything that is left out deposit it on their beds..including wet towels, face cloths and clothes along with any food stuff they have neglected to put away or dirty dishes they have neglected to wash up...etc
Finally continue to strike at leisure
Oh and PS: hide your hairdryer!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Good morning everyone.
It's a lovely morning here, bright sun twinkling over the sea and pale baby blue skies.
Camelot - yes, I'll take time to look at them. The bluebells in my garden are well past their best but there's a whole woodland here full of them. I'll get a photo and post it.
Up and about, want to head down fairly early to do a bit of shopping en route. I'll get DM something fishy from the Oyster Bar and I need some wine for my Friday soir!e. Alcohol can't be bought in Scotland before 10.00am so I'll time my journey.
Yesterday I had a piece of bavette steak which was so tender and tasty, I've got the other half in the fridge for Wednesday. I'll certainly buy that again.
Still thinking of Nelski and her beloved dad.
Happy Monday folks.0 -
Morning everyone,
(hugs) to those that need one.
My thoughts are with you Nelski
I had a good day yesterday with a visit from my brother and his partner, made a Victoria sponge to go with our coffee and they took what we didn’t eat with them, I’m sure my niece and nephew will have enjoyed that after their dinner yesterday evening.
They brought me some rhubarb from their garden which is now in the freezer. I do love rhubarb but since I moved here I can’t grow anything anymore because there is only a tiny concrete back garden. There isn’t even enough room to grow things in tubs even.
I had a really large garden where I was before and used to grow a lot of fruit and veg, there are times when I miss it, but others when I am pleased that I don’t have the work of such a large plot.
Today I want to take a walk to the local Tesco early on. I don’t usually go there because it is a couple of miles and there is no direct bus route. Walking there is fine, but I can’t buy much or anything heavy because of the walk back but they have a couple of things on offer at the moment which finishes on Tuesday.
Later this morning I have to go to the doctors for a blood test. I usually try to avoid my surgery on a Monday because they have the open surgery system in the mornings when everyone that turns up before 10.30am gets seen, and of course on a Monday it is usually crowded there after the weekend. At least I have an appointment with the phlebotomist, but I do tend to panic in crowded areas.
Having forgot to take anything out of the freezer for dinner today, I think I had better go and have a dig around in there now before I forget for something for dinner tonight.
Dumpling, I hope that your DD has had a good weekend, and that the meeting with her psychiatrist goes well this week.
I hope that you all have a good day. Take care x0
