I'm wondering how much of the above posts you've read, as in the OP I wrote about the train staff saying it was a fatality, and then post 3 says it isn't Catford Bridge..0 -

There are measures in place to mitigate this in vulnerable areas where there are reasonably high fences separating the fast lines from the ones where trains routinely stop.0

Shouldnt have.
There was a brief trial of "telling the truth" before feedback suggested a lot of people didn't like it. We've now moved on to "person struck by train" which doesn't necessarily mean that they've been killed.
A fairly good compromise as in days gone by it was a "lineside incident" other some other such nonsense.0 -

I think you'd imagine wrong - going by our local newspaper, which all too frequently features such the inquest results from such incidents, most find an isolated stretch of line where the trains aretravelling at high speed, often via a level crossing, and then stand/lie/step in front of the train0 -
On the line into Paddington there are sadly regular suicides which are often at West Drayton. I would think access to the line is difficult there apart from at stations as there are no level crossings in the area. It's all dreadfully sad for the families and the poor train drivers. I imagine that some drivers are unable to return to work at all after such an experience.0 -
I was on a train once delayed by someone threatening suicide at Durham. In fact every single train going south from Edinburgh was delayed for a couple of hours that morning. The train guard handed out compensation forms so clearly it's standard protocol

the cost of train prices and the fact you can be sitting next too on the train who paid 11 pound for ticket you paid 60 for as an example i would claim.
The suicide was not your fault, i would donate personally half the delay repay fee too charity if if were me.debts 16550
