Delay repay for a fatality?

Currently sat on a stationary train because some poor soul just jumped in front of it. Driver has informed us it's a fatality.
I can't help thinking that events like this are entirely not the train company's fault, and if there's a 2 hour delay like the conductor said it might, then that's a lot of money in refunded tickets. Doesn't really seem right to claim a refund because of a suicide.
Apologies if this post seems insensitive. I'm in a small bit of shock that the train I'm on just hit somebody (and the poor driver) so I can't really express things properly.

Catford Bridge ? News says "schoolgirl" trapped but alive.
Seems off that the rail co can be penalised for something that is out of their control.0 -
Colchester.
Delay repay seems to suggest any reason is valid.0 -
The Train Operating Company (TOC) will be getting the money from Network Rail anyway - you may aswell claim your share rather than line the TOC's pocket.0

They will happily pay out.Currently sat on a stationary train because some poor soul just jumped in front of it. Driver has informed us it's a fatality.

Everyone (who actually had a ticket!) on the trains from Euston to Manchester and area on Saturday night is getting a full refund because the match finished late and they delayed the trains departures to get the Mancs back home! (Not the train companies fault the match finished late!)0 -
Delay Repay does pay out for a fatality, trespass or any other incident not in control of the rail industry.
However a small number of Train Companies do not (yet) offer Delay Repay.0 -
Personally if I receive anything for a fatality, it would be donated to the Samaritans.0

These days, you'd generally have to go out of your way to find out if it was a fatality or not, as at the time it may not be confirmed, and even if it is, they're rarely announced as such.0

True .. because it's Network Rail's fault that every single mile of railway line isn't sufficiently fenced and security protected so as to stop people jumping in front of trains. The Train Operating Company (TOC) will be getting the money from Network Rail anyway - you may aswell claim your share rather than line the TOC's pocket.
