Remote Garage Insurance

I am storing the contents of my garage/shed in the garage of a relative for 6 months or so. Can I get my own insurance for this? I would rather do this than involve the relative (who will have their own home insurance). I doubt my own home insurance would cover it. It's a large amount of stuff and it's obvious it doesn't belong to the house (e.g. loads of gardening equipment for a house with a tiny garden).
Any advice appreciated.
