Recalled direct debit

    If the bank says it will be back in your account by 8.30am tomorrow then that means it could conceivably be credited any time between now and then but I don't think anyone on this forum can really tell you what your bank is actually going to do.

    The terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee say you are entitled to an 'immediate' refund when pursuing a claim, so, in theory, it should be credited to you up front.

    That's all I can offer.

    It will depend on when you asked them to get the direct debit back - morning request would be by say the end of the business day - afternoon requests by the time you have been quoted of 8.30.
