Suit yourself - but I'd hope that having read about the inconvenience of lost bags, and what other people do to mitigate it, you just might have a rethink for future trips.
For reference we go to Sydney/Brisbane twice a year so I do practise what I preach. (wife mitigates by having built up a small wardrobe at our destination!)
